what if fashion series

At my DC Nation Internship last year I was taking a lot of fashion classes. I started sketching out my favorite characters as fashion models and finally got around to finishing them before CTN. Hope you like them! I have prints and bookmark sets available!

CTN

Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by my booth! It was so nice to make new friends and reconnect with old ones. I'm sorry my blog's a little empty right now. I've had a few awesome changes in my life, and hopefully I can start posting more!

Here are a few things I sold at CTN:

Chased

I finally finished my film! I've worked extremely hard to get here so please let me have a moment of cheesy sentimental mushiness. (Don't worry, I'll keep it vegan.)

It happened to work out for me to post my film today and I'm really excited about it! Today I started my first full-time week at Warner Brothers after graduating with a BFA in animation. Along with that, this morning I turned in my first ever freelance animation project which I worked on with a former Disney animator! I took a huge risk to try to make it in the animation industry and I seriously couldn't have done it without all of you. Thank you so much to everyone for your unwavering support. Words simply can't express my heartfelt appreciation to each and every one of you...my family, my friends, my professors, and all the amazing people I've worked with on Scooby, DC, Adventure Time, and now Teen Titans. You have all helped me so much in such a short period of time and I am beyond grateful for that. This is only the beginning! I can't wait to see where my life takes me and I'm so honored to have such an outpouring of support as I continue down this path. Thank you everyone!! Who says dreams can't come true?

/end cheesy mush

p.s. I apologize for but am not sorry for bombarding every social networking outlet with this! :)

kinky jew

Excuse my blatantly sexual and racist title. But look! It's a kinkajou! Here's a look into my process with a line drawing, a quick color sketch, and then the final painting in acrylic and gouache on canvas.

This is for an art auction benefitting The Wildlife Learning Center!

P.S. I know it's been a while since I posted. I'm sorry! So much has happened. More on that later. :)

animating.

It's crunch time. Not like captain crunch, of course, but rather crunch time for films.
I love animating, especially when I pose it out in pretty colors.

wingo!

It's been three years since I've been to Wingo's figure drawing class, and two years since I've picked up a piece of charcoal! Needless to say, I'm a bit rusty.

I definitely miss Wingo's classes! He's one of my favorite professors of all time.

I post-ited some quick 30 second thumbnails for my poster design.

Which ones do you like best?

"Run for your life."
"There's one monster you just can't escape"
"Sometimes running for your life (or as fast as you can) just isn't enough."

pip squeak

Working on some more visual development for my film. :)

Chocolate Art

I finished a few paintings for my first ever gallery show last weekend! It was a big collaboration called "Chocolate & Art" featuring many Los Angeles based artists. I don't have good pictures of the paintings yet, but these were taken at the show.

crunchatized

Von's was out of Captain Crunch the other day. Methinks the Cap'n got distracted on his way over there:

film character

I know what you're thinking. This girl looks absolutely NOTHING like the girl I posted before. My film has changed so much! But it's for the better. I just can't figure out what her name should be. She doesn't seem like a Lily anymore!

-xoxo Emilord

p.s. Guess who has two opposable thumbs and is the newest intern on Adventure Time? This girl!

p.p.s. I edited a few of her shapes to make her more appealing.

Artemis

My contribution to this week's Sketchbook Society theme, Greek Mythology. I chose Artemis! I really wanted to do Diana; she's my favorite for some weird, super nerdy reasons. But since Diana's Roman Mythology I went with her Greek equivalent, Artemis! I spent waaaay too long making her and her little deer friend. Now back to my film!

2012 Sketchbook Project

I just mailed off my submission for the 2012 Sketchbook Project with the Brooklyn Art House Co-op! The theme I chose was "Encyclopedia of..." and naturally I turned it into "The Encyclopedia of Water Nymphs." I crammed it all into the last second, but it was really fun. I mailed it a day late but paid an arm and a leg to get it there quickly, so fingers crossed there are no problems!

Front and Back Cover! It looks a little like a 5 year old made it, but whatevs, I had fun with the 3D Puff Paint.

Octopus Hair!

Salty Sailor Lass

These mermies mark my first experiences with a brush pen! I'm officially in love.

Betta Battle...

Naiads!

Selkie Girl!

Geisha Mermaid!

Ningyo!

So I wrote that paragraph after a huge lack of sleep, and I just realized now that I kept writing "Morrow" instead of "Merrow." My bad! I'm appalled with myself.

Hippie Mermaid!

Hehe. Mermaid Pun.

I drew sooooo many mermaids. There are a lot more if you get a chance to see the book when it goes on tour, but these were all my favorites. What's yours?
