It's been three years since I've been to Wingo's figure drawing class, and two years since I've picked up a piece of charcoal! Needless to say, I'm a bit rusty.

I definitely miss Wingo's classes! He's one of my favorite professors of all time.
I finished a few paintings for my first ever gallery show last weekend! It was a big collaboration called "Chocolate & Art" featuring many Los Angeles based artists. I don't have good pictures of the paintings yet, but these were taken at the show.
My friend recently helped me with the art direction for my film and I'm finally at a good place with it. Here's a vis dev piece as well as a style/animation test!
I know what you're thinking. This girl looks absolutely NOTHING like the girl I posted before. My film has changed so much! But it's for the better. I just can't figure out what her name should be. She doesn't seem like a Lily anymore!

p.s. Guess who has two opposable thumbs and is the newest intern on Adventure Time? This girl!
p.p.s. I edited a few of her shapes to make her more appealing.
My contribution to this week's Sketchbook Society theme, Greek Mythology. I chose Artemis! I really wanted to do Diana; she's my favorite for some weird, super nerdy reasons. But since Diana's Roman Mythology I went with her Greek equivalent, Artemis! I spent waaaay too long making her and her little deer friend. Now back to my film!
I just mailed off my submission for the 2012 Sketchbook Project with the Brooklyn Art House Co-op! The theme I chose was "Encyclopedia of..." and naturally I turned it into "The Encyclopedia of Water Nymphs." I crammed it all into the last second, but it was really fun. I mailed it a day late but paid an arm and a leg to get it there quickly, so fingers crossed there are no problems!
Front and Back Cover! It looks a little like a 5 year old made it, but whatevs, I had fun with the 3D Puff Paint.
Octopus Hair!
Salty Sailor Lass
These mermies mark my first experiences with a brush pen! I'm officially in love.
Betta Battle...
Naiads!
Selkie Girl!
Geisha Mermaid!
Ningyo!
So I wrote that paragraph after a huge lack of sleep, and I just realized now that I kept writing "Morrow" instead of "Merrow." My bad! I'm appalled with myself.
Hippie Mermaid!
Hehe. Mermaid Pun.
I drew sooooo many mermaids. There are a lot more if you get a chance to see the book when it goes on tour, but these were all my favorites. What's yours?
