The different colors are for different parts of the film, her name is Lily, and I think I like that pattern the best for her tights.

here's the first test page of my color script! I'm trying a few things out so this probably isn't the final color. Most likely I'll have someone who is not colorblind to help me out. for obvious reasons. questions?! comments? outbursts of emotion?!

update: 10/26/11 I changed a lot of the colors. My full script is a lot longer but you'll have to see it in person. I'm not giving anything away on the internetz!

I've never been more impressed with Flash than right now. I was attempting to export some images to use for my business cards for CTN, the files were huge, and this is what Flash gave me. I'm in love! They look super badass! I wish I could take full credit! Click on the images for close-up badassery!

My bio-engineer roommate and I made a 48-hour film last weekend at calarts! The theme was "cactus." Our film is ridiculous, as all 48 hour films should be. Enjoy!

character dump

Here marks the first post of my senior year! My thesis film, currently untitled, is about a girl being chased by a monster. Have some character studies.

I want my film to have a "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends" vibe, so that jewel of a show has been my source of entertainment for the last few weeks. Having a little girl as my main character means I'll also be using "Powerpuff Girls," "The Mighty B," "Lilo and Stitch," and "Cats Don't Dance" for reference.




Haven't settled on a monster yet. But he's the general idea.




These last girls are a lot closer to a final design, I think. More specifically the bottom right. The curls will be challenging to animate, but I'm excited about it.

mermaid!

I just spent the last few weeks at a family reunion all over the east coast. While I was there I was practicing some watercolor techniques and I made this mermaid for my 10-year old cousin Julia.

junior year

I just completed my junior year of college! This semester I realized how much I need to work on personal stuff, so here you are. Also...you may notice the format of my blog changed! I created "Miss Emilord" as the hostess character for my website that I'm building (coming to the interwebz near you May 2011), and decided to feature her on my blog as well. I hope you like her! AND I decided to create a deviantart account. I'm going to try to become better at posting on both. But no promises.
